Ex NORTHERN FROSTED SWORD 7
Building upon previous Unit Expeditions, Ex
Northern Frosted Sword 7 (Ex NFS7) saw a
total of 28 Riflemen take part in Distributed
Training at Val Thorens, which is in Les Trois
Vallees - the world’s largest ski area.
Previous Expeditions led by the Battalion
have given several SP the opportunity to
progress onto more demanding Leader awards
and it is hoped that this success continues for
future courses.
All attendees thoroughly enjoyed the
experience, which not only provided the
opportunity to learn a new skill for the first
time, it allowed them to socialise and bond
with a wide mix of ranks from personnel
across the Battalion. Additionally, Adventurous
Leadership and Resilience Training (ALeRT)
was delivered to enhance the Operational
capability of all attendees.

Returns to Action
Our team has been successfully
re-established under the guidance
and leadership of WO2 Hunt,
marking an exciting new chapter
for sport within the battalion. Like a
Phoenix, the team has been reborn,
with a renewed sense of purpose
and determination and to kick-start
preparations a dedicated training
day was held.
The squad’s first competitive outing
came at the VE Day 7s Tournament,
where players gained valuable match
experience against strong opposition.
The tournament served as an
important stepping stone in the team’s
development, helping the squad
identify areas for improvement while
building confidence and momentum.
Looking ahead, we have set
our sights on competing in the
Army Reserve Cup later this year.
Participation in the VE Day 7s
Tournament has provided an excellent
platform from which to prepare for
this challenge, and there is growing
optimism surrounding the team’s
prospects.
With strong leadership from WO2
Hunt and a committed group of
players, the future looks bright as the
team continues its journey back into
competitive military sport.
