Rifleman Jefferson Batts joined the
army in January 2018 and passed
out of the Infantry Training Centre in
Catterick seven months later, at the
age of 24. In just a few short months
after joining 1 RIFLES in Chepstow
he was involved in pre-deployment
training for Op TORAL for Afghanistan
in which he deployed on the
subsequent year. Jefferson relishes
all the travel opportunities the Army
provides and the chance to further his
career through promotion.
Rifleman Daniel Abery has served
with G Company, 7 RIFLES since
2015. In 2017 he successfully
completed the Battalion Guns cadre
and more recently attended a twoweek Battalion overseas exercise in
Germany.
In his civilian life, Daniel is a train
driver for C2C rails and is an avid
supporter of West Ham United FC.
